Midsummer
Midsummer, the brightes night in the hole year.
Here in Sweden Midsummer is like the summers Christmas. It something that we love to celebrate. We do it with a lots of food, people and games.
On the food table we serv new potatoes boiled in dill, pickeled herring, fish, potato gratin with anchovy, pie, eggs, and the most important whipped cream/vanilla ice cream with strawberries. YUMMIE! And of course we sing and have one of those shot of aquavit or maybe two or three.
Then we have all of those games, bowler, relay, croquet or other fun games.
Midsummer is a chans to meet up with your family and friends. Just having a good time.
I nearly forgot. We also dance around this Midsummer pole. Looks like a cross with two wreaths full of flowers and leafs.
If you havn't found your loved one you can pick seven flowers from seven diffrent pasture grounds. Put the flowers under your pillow and dream about him/her.
I really love Midsummer. And I hope I always will. It's more quiet now days but I hope we will have plenty of big family/friends midsummer parties in the future.

How do you celebrate midsummer?

Happy midsummer to everyone!
